New Car

Posted by Michael Dale on Wed, 02 Apr 2008 3:59 PM

We'll I purchased my first car today!

It is a Honda Accord 1998 V6-L and has only done 25,000km. Cost me $4k.

It has been sitting in a garage for the last two years so it is at the mechanic getting a major service and a timing belt change.

V6 = fuel guzzler? Honda have made pretty fuel eff. cars for the last few years, but V6 anything is still gonna have a fair bit of go (both in accelleration and consumption senses!) I'd think!

Looks cool :D I'm tossing up between buying a car and a bike in the next few months, but finding it hard to justify the cost of either (just not driving enough). Bike would change that, but it'd probably get me killed, too...schmeh!

Yes I agree, I wasn't looking for a v6. I was actually planning on buying a Saab 900 (1994-1995, Manual, 2lr 4-cylinder).

But this car came up and it was too good to turn down, its only done 25,000km. It's like new on the inside.

I do a bit of driving with work + going shopping without a car is a pain! :)

I'll hunt down the photos of the inside...

Oh cool... looks really nice, too (haha certainly not as ugly as Saabs are... sorry, personal bias :P)

Shopping IS the winning argument, unless you're trolley-pushable distance from a supermarket!

(Btw, all 3 of those photos were corrupted but still viewable for me... something funny with server/memory card/camera?...or IE7/vista? heh.)

Nice find sir Dale. Are you going to do any modifications to the interior, namely putting in a new sound system, or are you reasonably pleased with what you have?

It looks great mate.

Thanks. No I'm pretty happy with it, I may end up replacing the head deck at some stage, but it currently sounds awesome :)

Oh yeah. Leafguards are pointless. I had one on my car but I got rid of it because there's no point.
