New Moblie

Posted by Michael Dale on Mon, 09 Apr 2007 4:55 PM

Got myself a new mobile today. Bit of an impulse buy, but my old phone was starting to act up.

Anyway I got myself a Nokia E65.

Seems to work fairly well, its fast and does phone stuff :)

Coolness... they look good, but I'm not too big a fan of whole the moving-parts thing. A mate of mine just bought an N73 which is awesomely fast and has a great interface... same kinda price range as the E65 but a different style. Free upgrade with 3, and someone screwed up so he can even change plans up and down without penalty! I'm kinda impressed with the way 3 seem to be handling the whole handset thingo... enough so to consider them when I'm next up for a new phone, even if they're 3-branded/locked-ish.

How much is the N73? I got the E65 for $10/month

I like the E65 because it does Exchange Push Email, has WiFi and good battery life.

Ended up being $0 but it's meant to be only on the $99 plan i think? But because of the screwup he can change up and down. I think he's usually on $79 but occasionally goes to $99 anyway so it's not a big deal.

WiFi is nice... you can get it on the N80 but not the 73. It's probably only something I'd go for if it were a smart phone/PDA type thing. Too many buttons + wifi puts me off :P Unless you're planning on using it as a VoIP phone? Coz that's rather cool but I'm yet to find a decent Java MP softphone :(
