We got VoIP running internally this morning. We've been unable to get the cisco 7940/60s working (they won't flash) but we've got the 7912 working. Our hold music rules ;)

Once we have a SIP provider we can have external access!

Because of the issues last week I've made arrangements for a few backup DNS servers. I'll be moving all my sites over to the new setup either this week or once I get back from holidays. During this time all my domains will be down, if you rely on any dns lookups to my domains (i.e extranet.dalegroup.org) you will be affected.

Stuff shouldn't be offline for long.

Core support people have requested a delay until after Christmas in order to prepare upgrade documentation and enjoy the holidays a bit before the release.

This, combined with the fact I haven't got the changes to wordpress.org ready, is pretty compelling, so the release is currently planned for the 26th of December.

Most stuff has been organised.

We have:
A working phone (Max is going to test that today as we are getting the keys this afternoon).
Electricity (well at least we hope :p)
Gas
Heaps of furniture
Stuff for the kitchen
Heaps of computer gear to fill a rack or two (still need the rack :p)
Multiple sound systems (sorry neighbours)

We'll need to purchase some network cables to run between the rooms. Although we have wireless to start with.

That is about all I can think of at the moment.

DNS is a fundamental technology used to make the internet possible. Unfortunately joker.com, my domain registrar, has gone offline a long with their 3 DNS server.

This leaves most of my domains inaccessible (including email) even though all my equipment here is working correctly.

I am also unable to move the DNS as their web site is down too, which is where I can make changes to the settings.

Once joker is back online I will be moving my domains DNS elsewhere.

EDIT:

And just as I post this it looks like their DNS is back online! Yay.

Well I now have some news to share.

We (myself, max, josh and bryn) have just put down $3000 as a deposit to the new house we are moving into.

Yes that is right, I'm moving house!

The place is in enmore and is costing $490/week.

We are moving in on the 17th of december (8 days!).

We found this place last week and really liked it. All a bit of a rush.
